The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Jigawa State, Sabo Nakudu, has said he will leave Nigeria if the All Progressives Congress (APC) wins the 2027 general election without improving the living conditions of citizens.
Nakudu made the statement while receiving members of the ADC youth wing in Jigawa State, where he expressed concern over what he described as worsening hardship across the country.
According to him, young Nigerians stand to suffer the most if pressing challenges such as unemployment, insecurity and poor infrastructure remain unresolved.
“I will leave Nigeria if the APC wins the 2027 general elections. The younger generation will bear the greatest consequences if the current situations of unemployment, insecurity and poor infrastructure persist,” he said.
The ADC candidate criticised successive governments for failing to provide basic amenities, arguing that many Nigerians remain without access to essential services decades after independence.
He said access to clean water, electricity, education and security should no longer be treated as campaign promises but as fundamental responsibilities of government.
Nakudu noted that many communities still struggle to obtain potable water and stable electricity, describing the situation as disappointing.
“Governments should be assessed by the impact of their policies on the daily lives of ordinary people,” he said.
He also urged young people not to withdraw from political participation despite the country’s challenges.
“Don’t distance yourselves from politics but participate actively in the democratic process. Only leaders who are committed to development and accountability should be entrusted with public offices,” he added.
Nakudu’s remarks come amid growing debate over economic conditions, governance and the political landscape ahead of the 2027 general election.
