Tunisia have dismissed head coach Sabri Lamouchi following a heavy opening defeat at the FIFA World Cup.

Lamouchi’s position came under immediate scrutiny after Tunisia were beaten 5–1 by Sweden in Monterrey. The match exposed defensive weaknesses and a lack of control across midfield, with Sweden taking charge early and maintaining pressure throughout the contest in Monterrey.

According to reports, the decision to remove Lamouchi was taken shortly after the final whistle, as officials reacted to the scale of the result and the performance levels shown in the opening group fixture.

The result leaves Tunisia needing to regroup quickly while the tournament is still in its early stage. A replacement is expected to be appointed on an interim basis as preparations continue for the remaining group matches.
