The Nigeria Police Force has arrested 173 suspects and rescued 32 kidnapped victims during coordinated operations carried out across the country within one week.

According to a weekly situation report covering June 8 to June 14, 2026, the arrests were linked to cases of banditry, kidnapping, armed robbery, and murder across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The report also confirmed the recovery of 33 firearms and 450 rounds of ammunition. Thirteen individuals described as notorious criminals were killed during separate operations conducted by police units.

In addition, officers recovered 38 vehicles and a number of rustled cattle. The police attributed the results to coordinated tactical deployments, inter-agency collaboration, and targeted operations against criminal groups operating in different regions.

A state-by-state breakdown showed Delta State recorded the highest number of arrests with 51 suspects. Imo State followed with 29 arrests, while the Federal Capital Territory recorded 22.

For arms recovery, Rivers State recorded six firearms. Ekiti and Imo States recovered five firearms each, while Nasarawa State accounted for three.

Oyo State led in ammunition recovery with 250 rounds seized. Kwara State recovered 65 rounds, and Imo State recorded 44 rounds.

The police did not provide additional details on the identities of the suspects or ongoing prosecution efforts.
