Mahmud Sadis Buba has formally withdrawn from the race for the House of Representatives seat for Sabon Gari Federal Constituency, saying the decision was taken in the interest of party unity and ongoing reconciliation within the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a letter addressed to party stakeholders and supporters, Buba announced his immediate exit from the contest.

“Please accept this letter as formal notification that I am withdrawing from the race for Sabon Gari Federal Constituency, House of Representatives, effective immediately.”

He explained that the decision followed consultations with family members, political associates, and party stakeholders, adding that internal reconciliation efforts influenced the outcome.

“This was not an easy decision. But it was hastened by the reconciliation efforts initiated by stakeholders and leaders of our party. Consequently, after extensive consultations with my family, political associates, and stakeholders within our great party, I have decided that this decision is in the best interest of the All Progressives Congress (APC).”

Buba emphasized that his withdrawal was aimed at strengthening cohesion within the party ahead of the general election.

All Progressives Congress has been working to consolidate support behind a consensus candidate in several constituencies as part of its internal election strategy.

He also expressed appreciation to the leadership of the party in Kaduna State, including Governor Uba Sani, for the opportunity to participate in the nomination process.

Uba Sani was acknowledged in the letter as part of the leadership overseeing the party’s reconciliation process.

“I want to thank the leader of our party, His Excellency Senator Uba Sani, CON, and the leadership of the party in Kaduna State for the opportunity to have participated in the nomination process.”

Buba further stated that his withdrawal should not be interpreted as disengagement from party politics, but as a deliberate sacrifice for collective success.

“My withdrawal is not a sign of weakness, but a sacrifice for the greater good of the party. I assure you that I remain a faithful party member and am committed to working tirelessly to ensure the victory of the party’s consensus candidate and the party at large at the polls.”

He urged his supporters to remain united and align with the party’s final decision.

“I ask my supporters to remain calm, united, and to throw their full weight behind the party’s decision and whoever emerges as the party’s candidate.”

The development comes as the APC continues internal consultations to finalize its flagbearers across constituencies, including Sabon Gari Federal Constituency, Kaduna State, Nigeria.

Meanwhile, attention has also circulated around Buba in public discussions following unverified claims and inconsistencies reported in some identification records regarding his age. These claims have not been officially clarified by the relevant authorities.

Buba has not issued additional comments beyond his withdrawal letter.
